Receiver Tyron Johnson, a member of LSU's 2015 recruiting class, announced on his Twitter account on Thursday that he is transferring.

Johnson's dad told the Baton Rouge Advocate that his son is transferring to go to a more wide open offense.

A five-star recruit out of Warren Easton High School in New Orleans, Johnson was rated as the top player in Louisiana, the #5 receiver in the country, and the #27 player in the entire nation by 247Sports.com coming out of the prep ranks.

In his freshman season of 2015, his only season at LSU, Johnson caught 9 passes for 150 yards.

If Johnson transfers to another FBS school, he would have to sit out the 2016 season, and then would have three years of eligibility remaining.
