There is good news, and bad news, in terms of the weather forecast for Saturday, when the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns open up their 2018 Sun Belt Conference schedule, playing host to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

First the bad news; there's a good chance of rain in the afternoon, when a lot of Cajun fans will be tailgating.

Now the good news; most of that rain is expected to be out of the area prior to, or shortly after kickoff.

After partly cloudy skies on Saturday morning, the rain chances increase to 70% at the noon hour, 90% at the 1 o'clock hour, and 80% during the 2 pm hour, before decreasing to 50% at 3 pm.

After that, rain chances diminish throughout the rest of the day, with only a 30% chance of rain after kickoff, which is slated for 6 o'clock at Cajun Field.

Due to the rain and cloud cover, a Saturday afternoon high is expected to peak at only 86 degrees, which is about nine degrees cooler than we saw earlier in the week.
