UL head football coach Mark Hudspeth announced today that he has dismissed two UL players from his team for violating team rules. Darrell Green and Eric Ferguson have been released from the UL football team after they were charged with sexual battery and brought to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

The Daily Advertiser is reporting, " The victim told police that she was socializing with friends in her UL residence hall and left with a female friend and four men to go to a store after consuming some alcohol, police said. The victim was inside a vehicle when she stated she was fondled and touched on different parts of her body, police said. The victim told police she did not consent to the touching."

Coach Hudspeth has released the following statement in regards to the dismissal, "I expect the young men who represent the university as members of the Ragin' Cajuns football team to always conduct themselves in a appropriate manner.  If they cannot follow the core values that we expect them to live by, then they can no longer be part of this program."

The two players were reserves for the UL football team and saw very limited time on the field. Still, it is sad to these young men following their dreams and one bad decision wipes it all away.
