The University of Louisiana at Lafayette hosted a candlelight vigil Friday night in remembrance of those those who lost their life this week in the shooting at the Grand Theater in Lafayette.

Hundreds of students and members of the community showed up at the UL Quad to honor the lives of 21-year-old Mayci Breaux from Franklin and 33-year-old Jillian Johnson from Lafayette.

The event was surround with hymns and speeches, but more importantly, it was organized to bring a grieving community together. And that is precisely what UL did.

This is why we love Lafayette so much. There is no stronger community out there, and TOGETHER we will all get through, and we will NEVER FORGET the names Mayci Breaux and Jillian Johnson. They will forever be part of Lafayette!!!
