A busy holiday weekend, a busy travel weekend, and a tropical/subtropical system in the Gulf of Mexico. It's not the best scenario for relaxation but it's what we've been dealt and we want to make sure you have the latest information on the weather system known as Alberto all weekend long.

For your short-term planning here are some helpful radar links that could be quite helpful over the weekend.  Here is the National Weather Service radar scan for Acadiana. Here is the scan for the New Orleans area. Here is the scan for beach travelers heading to the Alabama and Florida coasts.

For your long-term planning here are links to help you stay abreast of where Alberto might be tracking. The National Hurricane Center's track forecast is here. A look at the latest Spaghetti Models is here.

In a very general sense, we don't see Alberto playing too large of a part in Acadiana's weather for the weekend.  If you're traveling to New Orleans to Bayou Country Superfest over the weekend then chances are greater you'll experience some showers, thundershowers, and breezy conditions especially on Sunday and into Monday.
