Vietnam Veteran Kent Maxfield recently returned from a visit to Vietnam and when he arrived home he got something he deserved many years ago, a hero's welcome.

When Maxfield returned from the grounds he once fought on, several people were awaiting his arrival at the airport, unlike when he initially returned in 1968.

The U.S. Veteran is battling cancer and was not given long to live, but he still found it in him to return to the jungles of Vietnam. Now, he says he is at peace with himself.

During the Vietnam war not many here supported the troops and their mission, but that has all since changed. He was not only greeted by dozens at the airport, but Maxfield and his family received a police escort from the airport as they returned home.

What a beautiful gesture for a true American hero!!!
