Wale is officially a dad. After rumors surfaced in May that the rapper was expecting a child with his girlfriend Chloe Alexis, baby Folarin is the real deal.

TMZ reports Wale had to cancel a performance in Brooklyn Friday night (July 22) because Chloe gave birth to a girl early that morning in a hospital in New York. Apparently the delivery was a long one since mom went into labor on Wednesday (July 20). The DMV native was scheduled to take the stage at the Barclays Center for the One Africa Music Fest. We're sure his fans will understand that fatherhood comes first.

While the Summer on Sunset creator hasn't confirmed he's indeed a father to a little girl, his tweets give a few hints. "I never cried and smiled at the same time until today," he wrote. "She so beautiful slim... She perfect." Beside his touching words, two emojis of a man and bride.

The road to fatherhood hasn't been easy for Wale, who is preparing to drop his fifth album, Shine, later this year. The "PYT" rhymer has been very vocal about his attempts to start a family with Chloe. "The girl I was with, we tried for a long time to have a child,” he revealed. “And when she finally did [get pregnant], she miscarried at 10 or 11 weeks.”

He even admitted he gave the unborn child a name. “I was visualizing my child’s face. We gave it a name and everything. All of that went away.”

Songs like the Usher-assisted "Matrimony" find him detailing the moment. "'Cause when we lost our baby, I got shady, shit got too dark/Soft, and I thank you baby, you strong," he spits.

Thankfully, the MMG rapper has much to celebrate since his baby girl is finally here. Congratulations, Wale.
