Nicholas and Christian Peltier were killed in a car accident on Wednesday morning and later that night, their school remembered them at Westgate's graduation.

18-year-old Nicholas was a Westgate senior, set to graduate on Wednesday night. His brother, 16-year-old Christian, was a sophomore at Westgate and planned on cheering his brother on from the stands.

Unfortunately, the Peltier brothers lost their lives in a car crash that morning and would never make the graduation.

Their peers and classmates made sure they were remembered. According to KATC-TV3, students gathered in the cafeteria before the ceremony to cry together and mourn the loss of their classmates who lost their lives way too soon.

Valedictorian, Lina Sihamath said she had several classes with Nick and considered him a friend. She included a moment of silence for the Peltier brothers in her speech.

While the tone was somber for many, when Nick's cousin walked across the stage to accept his diploma the crowd erupted with cheer when his name was announced. To say there were mixed emotions would be an understatement.

Nick and Christian Peltier's presence was felt—and in a major way.
