Will Smith’s Wife Racquel Reportedly Shot First In Altercation

The wife of Will Smith, Racquel, was reportedly shot first during the altercation in New Orleans that took the life of her husband.

According to the family attorney, Peter Thomson, Racquel is being treated in New Orleans for at least one gunshot wound to the leg.

Will Smith, the former Saints player, was killed on April 9th after a road-rage incident that may have come as a result of a hit-and-run accident. Preliminary autopsy reports suggest that Will Smith was shot eight times, with the majority of the shots striking him in the back

A loaded pistol was located in the SUV of the Smith's, but according to Thomson, the pistol was never taken out of the vehicle by Will Smith.  NOLA.com reports that the weapon in Smith's SUV was not fired during the altercation.

The man who allegedly shot the Smith's, Cardell Hayes, proclaims that he was not the aggressor in this incident and his attorney has echoed that to the media in recent days.
