World Championship Gumbo Cook Off in New Iberia Oct 13-14 [VIDEO]

The aroma of delicious Cajun food will be wafting along Bayou Teche in downtown New Iberia on October 13-14 for the 29th annual World Championship Gumbo Cook Off. This two day family friendly festival sponsored by the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce, is a celebration of everything we love about fall - great cajun cuisine and music! And of course, it doesn't hurt that it's in a setting along beautiful Bayou Teche at Bouligny Plaza.

Festivities kick off Saturday with the 'Cajun Creole Foodfest'  And then Sunday, the 'Battle of the Roux' begins with over 90 teams competing for the honor of best gumbo.

Music will be provided by Chubby Carriere and the Bayou Swamp Band, Hwy 90, Two in the Chamber, Jaryd Lane and the Parish, and Miles Flatt on Saturday. Sunday's lineup includes Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie, and Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin' Cajuns.
