XXXTentacion’s mother is requesting that the State of Florida return a vehicle in which her son was murdered back on June 18, 2018.

On Friday (Jan. 25), TMZ reported that Florida's Assistant State Attorney submitted documents on behalf of the late rapper’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, asking for her son's 2017 black BMW i8 vehicle back. This is the same car XXX was shot and killed in on June 18, 2018 in Deerfield Beach, Fla. Four suspects have all been charged with first-degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting.

Prosecutors said that law enforcement have finished processing the car so there’s no need to have it in their possession. X’s family, according to the documents, want the vehicle back immediately to avoid any further damage while it sits in storage.

If the judge agrees, the defense team for Dedrick Devonshay Williams—one of the alleged shooters—will have until the end of February to complete their inspection of the car. Once everything is inspected, the BMW will be returned to X’s mom.

It's been seven months since XXXTentacion was shot and killed in his car while shopping for a motorcycle at Riva Motorsports. Last year, Mr. Williams pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. Authorities believe Williams drove the SUV that was used to block the rapper from driving away. According to the report, Williams and another suspect were both armed when they confronted the Florida rapper and allegedly robbed and killed him.
