Winter is the season of cuffing and it's no secret why. Cold weather is the perfect excuse to spark a new flame or rekindle an old one and lock up the franchise player on your roster of late-night creeping partners. And sometimes those late-night meet-ups can evolve into something more and before you know it, you and said person are considered and item and no longer on the market.

But what if your cuffing season has come to an abrupt end, or never even begun at all? Valentine's Day day is here and while many people will be exchanging gifts, going on lavish dates, and the sort, those of you who aren't committed to anyone at the moment will have to sit on the sidelines and stomach the excessive amounts of PDA. There will be no flowers and chocolate for bae but instead, there will be constant reminders if you're on social media that everyone else seems to have a SO. Don't worry about a thing.

You likely decided that love may be overrated at the moment and scoff at the thought of the incessant affection. Single life is the good life. Well, a few people here at XXL can relate and have dug up a few songs that will help you survive Valentine's Day without a bae. Fabolous, Jay Z and Lil Wayne, to name a few, have the soundtrack for your day. There's a even a few for the ladies. So hold your head high and press play on these ten cuts.

    "Big Pimpin'"

    Jay Z Featuring UGK

"You know I, thug em, fuck em, love em, leave em
Cause I don't fucking need em / Take em out the hood, keep em looking good / But I don't fucking feed em," Jay Z raps on his 1999 smash, "Big Pimpin'" featuring UGK. And while those words may seem a bit brash, many people who are sick of love and commitment can relate. Valentine's Day is all about catering to your significant other, but for some, that is simply not an option. For those that would rather keep their pimp hand strong rather than cave in to the romantic festivities that take place on V-Day, "Big Pimpin'" should grace your playlist more than a few times.

Nicki Minaj goes in on her opening verse, spitting, "Feelin' myself, back off, cause I'm feelin' myself, jack off / He be thinking about me when he whacks off, wax on? Wax off / National anthem, hats off, then I curve that nigga, like a bad toss / Lemme get a number two, with some Mac sauce, On The Run Tour, with my mask off," while Beyonce handles the hook duties. So don't let the lack of a bae get you down, just throw this song on and bask in all your glory as an independent, bad chick.

"Ex Girl to the Next Girl"

    Gang Starr

Gang Starr's bread and butter may have been songs centered around the street life, but even Guru and DJ Premier have touched on having adversity in your love life and overcoming it. The dynamic duo addressed having to dust their shoulders off and move onto greener pastures on their Daily Operation track, "Ex Girl to the Next Girl," a selection that plays well for the guy that may be getting over a breakup without a lover, but remains optimistic. Lyrics like, "You know I used to be a player, fly girl layer and a heartbreaker / Lovemaker, backbreaker but then I made a / Mistake yes I fell in love with this ill chick / Sweatin' me for money, my name and the dilsnick," laments Guru's lesser moments with the ladies. "You and I are the past, c'est la vie, much respect girl / But now you're my ex-girl cuz I'm on with the next girl," prove that Guru is never pressed over the skins. "Single Again"

    Trina

It's cliche to think that being boo'd up is the end-all, be-all for women on Valentine's Day, but some ladies have no qualms about cutting ties with their significant other after they mess up, no matter what the holiday is. Trina makes this clear on her 2008 banger "Single Again," on which she announces that she's back on the market and on to bigger and better things. "You know how they do, how they act / See you with another man and they want you back (whoo whoo) / My ass still fat (whoo whoo) they still Checking for me / And never will you find another bitch like me," she raps with her head held high and without a concern. The Diamond Princess delivers an anthem for all the women that are single again and back on the prowl to remind them who's the baddest on Valentine's Day.

    "Cuffin Season"

    Fabolous

Valentine's Day is for lovers, but some people have skipped "Cuffin Season" altogether and prefer to scoff at the thought of partaking in any romantic festivities. Fabolous rails against those looking for a quick gift or affection with his thot-bashing anthem, "Cuffin Season," which is a perfect selection for those hitting decline on calls and ignoring texts from those looking to get over. "Every rapper in a cypher, every player in a huddle (whoa) / You really wanna fuck, but you say you want to cuddle (whoa) / You posting like you balling, but you really in a struggle (yeah) / Your captions be deep, but you shallow as a puddle / Turn down for what?" he delivers. Fab makes it no secret what his feelings are while crushing a few dreams of reformed jump-offs.

    "Single"

    Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne hooks up a banger that celebrates being free of any handcuffs and reveling in the prospective cuties awaiting on this classic mixtape loosie. Co-produced by Noah "40" Shebib and Omen and lifted from his No Ceilings mixtape, "Single" finds Tunechi completely content with being solo and reiterating that point throughout the song. "Yeah, I'm single / Nigga had to cancel that bitch like Nino / I ain't tripping on nothing, I'm sipping on something / And my homeboy say he got a bad bitch for me," he serves. Weezy has no concerns of Valentine's Day and crafts a track that is a prime selection for those that would rather toast to being ready to mingle than being in love.
