6ix9ine has been behind bars in federal custody since his arrest on federal racketeering charges last November, but it looks like the rapper might not have to serve a hefty prison sentence—at least, if you take his girlfriend's Instagram post at face value.

In a post she uploaded to Instagram on July 28, 6ix9ine’s current girlfriend, Jade, hinted that the embattled rapper might get out of prison by January 2020. In the photo, Jade, born Sarah Wattley, is posing while showing off her tattoos, including one of her daughter. The since-deleted caption reads, "6 more months motherfucker," along with emojis of a rainbow, a unicorn and double hearts.

On Monday (July 29), Mohammed Gangat, who is a New York City-based attorney with a popular Instagram account where he breaks down high-profile cases, used an IG video to speak on the potential for the rapper's release, corroborating Jade's suggestion in the process. According to the lawyer, because 6ix9ine is cooperating with the federal government, prosecutors won’t press any charges and recommend no prison time at his final sentencing, which will probably be in January.

This news comes as 6ix9ine added attorney Alex Spiro to his defense team. Spiro is the lawyer Jay-Z hired to help 21 Savage with his deportation case this past February. According to court documents obtained by XXL, Spiro was added to the rapper's legal team, which also includes Lance Lazzaro, Dawn Florio and Emma Maya Greenwood, during a hearing in New York on July 9.

As of now, all but two of the 11 people charged along with Tekashi in the federal case have pleaded guilty. The only people who haven't pled guilty are Anthony "Harv" Ellison and Aljermiah "Nuke" Mack. 6ix9ine's federal racketeering case is scheduled to go to trial on Sept. 4.
