As the election season ramps up, Lafayette voters have to decide who they will support as Lafayette Consolidated Government's next city-parish president.

The public may get some insight into the campaigns of the two candidates, Joel Robideaux and Dee Stanley, at a debate being hosted by the Acadiana Press Club.

The event will be held Monday, Sept. 21 at South Louisiana Community College’s Devalcourt Auditorium, 320 Devalcourt St. The debate will start at 6 p.m.

A panel of media representatives from The Daily Advertiser, The Acadiana Advocate, KATC TV3, and The Independent will pose questions to the candidates while Acadiana Press Club Vice President Ian Auzenne will moderate the debate. Questions will not be provided to candidates prior to the debate.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Membership in the Acadiana Press Club is open to journalists, media professionals, public relations professionals, public information officers, communication professors and students, retired journalists, civic and political leaders and the general public. Only members of the working media and Acadiana Press Club members may ask questions during the forum.
