A new billboard in Lafayette is shining a spotlight on local-born entertainer Addison Rae after she landed her first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist ahead of the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

Located at the intersection of Ambassador Caffery Parkway and Robley Drive, the massive billboard features a childhood photo of Rae wearing a pageant sash and crown. The tagline “Pageant beginnings. Pop stardom destiny.” celebrates her rise from a Louisiana kid to a global presence in music and entertainment.

The billboard is part of a Spotify-sponsored campaign that highlights Best New Artist nominees around the world. Each artist featured has a nostalgic photo that reflects their early passions. Rae is joined by nominees like KATSEYE, Olivia Dean, and Leon Thomas in the global spotlight.

From Lafayette Roots To Global Fame

Born in Lafayette and raised in Shreveport, Rae first gained attention in 2019 by posting dance and lip-sync videos on TikTok. Her following exploded rapidly, turning social media fame into opportunities in music, film, and television. Today, she boasts more than 90 million followers across platforms.

Rae launched her music career in 2021 with her debut single Obsessed and followed up with her first full album, Addison, in June 2025.

Tracks like Diet Pepsi and Headphones On — named one of Spotify Editors’ Picks: Best Songs of 2025, have helped define her pop sound.
