“I got a phone call from my mother, and she said, ‘I’m your mother, and you’re my daughter.”

Everyone knows those DNA kits where you can swab your cheek, and send off the specimen which is then sent back to you with an insight to where you came from.

Most people use it as a fun conversation starter or for those who are genuinely interested in their heritage. But for one Lafayette woman, the results changed her life.

After receiving the results, Wanda Leblanc told KATC that she saw a name she did not recognize and began to investigate.

As it turns out, the mysterious name, Lynne Wray, is Leblanc's aunt. 70-year old Wray was adopted and had never met her birth mom...until last month.

Check out this video from KATC of their reactions.
