This year's NBA season has been marked by unprecedented greatness. As the Golden State Warriors vie for the best regular season record of all time, all eyes are on Stephen Curry and the reigning NBA champs. With NBA legends on the mind, Complex spoke to Philadelphia 76ers great Allen Iverson, who, like Curry, defied the boundaries of his own size and stature to leave an indelible mark on the game.

In the interview, A.I. comments on Post Malone, who rose to prominence off the single "White Iverson," saying that he's never met the rapper but hopes to one day and is honored by his ode. Perhaps the most noteworthy tidbit though is a story Iverson told in which Nelly, who was at one time a part owner of the Charolette Hornets, beat him in a game of H-O-R-S-E. The way Al tells it, he only lost because he was sipping before.

"Me and Nelly played H.O.R.S.E. He’s a friend of mine," Iverson said. "I remember one night we went to Jermaine Dupri’s studio and I had been drinking before I got there. We went into the gym and he beat my ass. Then he went on 106 and Park and bragged about it. So the next time we played, I made sure that I came prepared. I hadn’t drunk anything and beat his ass. And during that game he was saying, 'You need to get him a couple drinks.' I told him, 'Nah. Not today. You ain’t going to brag on this one.'"

Iverson has long been the symbol for the NBA's hip-hop era, and is the go-to example for why the league instituted a pre- and post-game dress code. He mentions in the interview that he's also good friends with Ma$e, so who knows how many similar stories A.I. has got up his compression sleeve.
