Not 100% sure about how I feel about this story. The Catwoman character has been kind of a hit-or-miss thing (Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Barry), but given the angle of the recent Batman movies have taken, it may not be a bad idea to be the latest in the series.

Last week, word out of Gotham City was that five actresses were competing for possibly two roles in "The Dark Knight Rises": Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Kate Mara and Charlotte Riley. Now, one of those women officially has a job.

Warner Bros. announced in a press release Wednesday (January 19) that Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle, a well-established character in DC Comics lore who is the alter-ego of Catwoman.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story," director Christopher Nolan said in the press release.
