One of the Bayou State's most popular festivals announced this week that they are putting this year's festivities 'on hold'. The Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival is celebrating their 85th year on Labor Day weekend, but in a statement posted to their official Facebook page this week, the celebration could be derailed by the coronaviruas crisis.

Festival organizers are stopping just short of saying that the festival is cancelled, and are taking a 'wait and see' attitude this year. The festival, billed as 'The oldest state chartered harvest festival in Louisiana', would have been held on Thursday, September 3 - Monday, September 7 this year.
