April 15 Louisiana COVID-19 Update

The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for April, 15 2020.

There are now 21,951 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. 5,817 tests have been completed by state labs and 116,111 tests have been reported by commercial labs. Numbers show that there are 1,943 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized with 425 of them on ventilators.

The total amount of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,126 with 59 deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 375 cases, 16 deaths
St. Martin Parish: 174 cases, 10 deaths
Iberia Parish: 159 cases, 7 deaths
St. Mary Parish: 130 cases, 4 deaths
St. Landry Parish: 116 cases, 16 deaths
Acadia Parish: 105 cases, 5 deaths
Evangeline Parish: 40 cases
Vermilion Parish: 27 cases, 1 death

There is more widespread representation throughout the state as all 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,103. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow at noon.
