Arrests Made, Suspects Identified in Lafayette ATM Robbery Case
The Lafayette Police Department announced a significant development in the ATM robbery case that took place in Lafayette on Friday (11/3). Two suspects are now in custody and have been charged for their involvement in the crime.
In response to the robbery at the Capital One bank on Ambassador Caffery Parkway, Lafayette Police have arrested 40-year-old Jermaine Clay of Breaux Bridge, LA. Clay has been charged with one count of principal to simple robbery. Accompanying him in custody is 22-year-old Daquaylon Williams, also from Breaux Bridge, who faces a charge of simple robbery.
Both men were apprehended without incident and have since been booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
According to sources, the ATM maintenance worker, who was reportedly encountered by the thieves during the robbery, was thankfully unharmed, though understandably shaken by the event.
The investigation into the robbery remains active.
