Popular Beach Destinations For Louisianans Closed After Back to Back Shark Attacks
Multiple popular beaches along Florida's Gulf Coast were closed to the public Friday afternoon after multiple shark attacks were reported just hours apart.
Fox 8 reported that both incidents occurred between Destin and Panama City Beach, both popular destinations for Louisianans.
The first reported attack was called at around 1 pm near Watersound Way and Coopersmith. The Walton County Sheriff's Office reported that a woman was the victim of the first attack and was being transported to a hospital.
An eyewitness said he was out in the water with his children body surfing just 75 feet away from the attack. He described seeing "lots of blood in the water" saying that it doesn't look like a good situation.
The second attack was reported around 3:25 p.m. near Shoreline Drive, according to Fox 8. The Walton Sheriff's Department reported that a teenager was the victim of the second attack Friday.

At this time there are no further updates on the victims conditions but the investigation is ongoing. Double red flags are flying on both beaches now to remind the public that the waters are not safe for swimming and should remain out of the water until further notice.
A beachgoer shared photos of the shark responsible for at least one of the attacks reported on Friday afternoon.
