A Saturday night bar fight in Lafayette led to one man being shot and another booked with attempted murder.

Around midnight on Saturday Lafayette Police responded to shots fired at a bar in the 4800 block of West Congress Street. Upon their arrival they found one male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. Another man was on the scene with injuries from a bar fight that reportedly led to the shooting.

According to Police Spokesperson Cpl. Bridgette Dugas, both men were transported to a local hospital.

Macgeorge R. Johnson Jr., 20, was released from the hospital and booked with attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons. Records show his bond is set at $135,000.

Police continue to investigate the incident and we will update this story when more information is available.
