Baton Rouge Police Light Up Hospital Where Injured Officer is Being Treated [VIDEO]

The Baton Rouge Police Department is mourning the loss of an officer and praying for the recovery of another.

Two Baton Rouge Police Officers were shot Saturday morning when they attempted to execute a warrant. The man they were looking for was accused of murder and when the officers approached the man's surrounding, that's when he allegedly shot them.

WBRZ reports that a 21-year veteran with the BRPD was killed on the scene and a 7-year veteran is now fighting for his life in a Baton Rouge hospital.

On Sunday evening several officers from various agencies showed their support for the officers by showing up at the medical facility and lighting up the parking lot with their blue lights.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the officers and with the entire Baton Rouge Police Department.

The man who allegedly shot the officers was arrested after a lengthy stand-off.
