The community is coming together to support a man who was a fixture in Lafayette law enforcement for over 30 years. Former Lafayette City Marshal Early "Nickey" Picard has incurred substantial medical costs and the event on June 25th aims to help defer some of that. According to organizers, the event at Cowboys Nighclub in Lafayette will feature bands such as The Adam Leger Band, The Atchafalaya Band, TK Hulin and Steve Adams, Tony Goulas & Friends, Dustin Sonnier, and The Wanted.

Back in 2019, Picard's wife died after a long battle with cancel. In a social media post, he said, "The lord brought my angel home..." They had been married since 1949 and made Lafayette their home. The couple has three children and numerous grand children and great-grandchildren.
