New Bill Requires Public Schools To Teach Cursive Handwriting

How much do we use cursive handwriting?

I remember learning the alphabet in grade school. Then as I got older the teacher hit us with cursive writing. I thought it was so awesome to learn how to write letters in a new way. I had no idea that it wasn't required for a teacher to teach us cursive.

Shout out to my teachers that taught us how to write cursive. There are schools that don't teach it at all. I had no idea.

Well, a new bill that the Washington legislature is trying to pass that will make cursive writing mandatory in all public schools.  

The bill amends state law to include cursive in the list of subjects that are included in the common curriculum. In other words, they want to make it mandatory.
