
Body Recovered From Vehicle Submerged in a Ditch in Lake Charles
Law enforcement in Lake Charles recovered a body on Tuesday afternoon from a vehicle that was in a low-lying area off East Prien Lake Road.
The Calcasieu Parish Coroner's Office confirmed that this is the first flood-related death in Lake Charles.
Police and firefighters recovered the vehicle, which was found submerged in a ditch, Major Kevin Kirkum said.
The name of the deceased has not been made public.
On Monday evening, one man died and another is still missing after their car crashed into a canal near Port Allen.
And the body of a Gonzales man was found in a pile of abandoned vehicles near the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge on Tuesday afternoon.
