Bow Wow Admits He Feels Mentally Detached After His Partner Lost Unborn Son
Bow Wow is once again using social media to share some very personal information. On Tuesday (Aug. 21), the rapper opened up about his mental health struggles, writing in a since-deleted tweet that he lost a son earlier this year.
The Greenlight 6 artist, born Shad Moss, seemed to imply that the expectant mother of his second child suffered a miscarriage. He also wrote that his father is struggling with alcoholism and currently dealing with illness of his own.
"Don't really care. The media crucifies me. Im the most hated. Every girl i gave my heart to it failed," he wrote, according to a screenshot of the tweet, which can be viewed below. "My dad is a alcoholic and is now sick. I lost my son this year! Im over everything. Mentally i feel detached im in so much pain bro."
Moss, who has a daughter with dancer and choreographer Joie Chavis, has spoken multiple times this year about suicidal thoughts. He addressed the feelings in an April interview on Power 105's The Breakfast Club.
"I been saying, 'I don't want to be here.' What people don't understand is like, I done lapped the world eight times," he admitted. "It's like me being, coming into the game young and seeing so much and doing so much, and sometimes I just question life like, 'Damn, what else is there for me to do?'"
Also in April, Bow Wow announced that his new album will be titled Edicius—"suicide" spelled backwards—and explained that the word signifies a desire to bounce back.
"The name represents relentlessness, coming back for more even after death. Left the old me and woke up a NEW ME," he tweeted.
The former child rap star plans to join Jermaine Dupri's So So Def 25th Anniversary Cultural Curren$y Tour launching on Oct. 14.
