An updated affidavit of arrest containing investigative details in Brandon Scott Lavergne's 1999 aggravated burglary/aggravated oral sexual battery case has been posted on Scribd. Lavergne is currently being held on charges of aggravated kidnapping and first-degree murder in connection with the disappearance of Mickey Shunick, the 22-year-old UL student from Lafayette that has been missing since May 19, 2012.

According to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office sex offender website, Lavergne was convicted of oral sexual battery on February 18, 2000. Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office reports indicate that Brandon Scott Lavergne pleaded guilty to aggravated oral sexual battery in exchange for a 10-year sentence and the dismissal of the related aggravated burglary charge.

Lavergne was incarcerated in the C. Paul Phelps Correctional Center from February 2000 until August 9, 2008. He was released 2 years early and remained under parole supervision until February 2010.
