Much of Acadiana remains on stand-by as we await the confirmation from Lafayette Police on a body that was located yesterday in Evangeline Parish. Paul Mouton, of Lafayette Police, says they are confident in their findings yesterday and that they believe Mickey Shunick has been brought home. Since then, the million dollar question is...Who brought authorities to the grave site in Evangeline Parish?

Our sister station Planet Radio advised us that according to The Advertiser, LPSO spokesperson Kip Judice says, "The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office is acting as support agency to the Lafayette PD, who is the lead in the case, we will not comment on why a prisoner was moved.”

The Advertiser also says, “According to Lafayette Parish Correctional Center records, Brandon Scott Lavergne was checked out of jail at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, hours before police said they found human remains believed to be those of Mickey Shunick.”

We have heard through multiple sources that Lavergne may have brought authorities to the remote location in Evangeline Parish yesterday where a body was discovered. We can confirm that Lavergne was out of jail for nearly 9-Hours Tuesday. The body was located in a small private cemetery off of LA 10, just northwest of Mamou.
