Lavergne was indicted July 18 by a Lafayette grand jury for the first-degree murder of UL student Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate. Since then,  Lafayette Police have recovered the body of Mickey Shunick  in Evangeline Parish on August 7th behind a cemetery off of LA 10, just Northwest of Mamou. Still, we do not know who led authorities to Mickey's body other than a "credible source." Pate's case stems back to her disappearance in 1999.
