Two of the hottest names in music have teamed up to bring us a brand new project.

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak dropped the news last night that they've teamed up on a new joint project called Silk Sonic. Both artists posted the exciting news to their official social media accounts and the first impression I get is that things are definitely gonna get funky.

At first, I thought they were bringing us a song, but Mars and .Paak have recorded an entire album, and at least the first single will feature famed Parliament Funkadelic bassist and funk phenomenon Bootsy Collins as a "special guest host."

Look for the first single to drop next week (March 5), with the rest of the project to follow on a future date that hasn't been announced yet.

According to Pitchfork, the duo was rumored to have worked on material together when they toured back in 2017. The last project from .Paak was 'Ventura' in 2019 and Bruno's last album was the smash hit '24K Magic' in 2016.

We're excited about this new Silk Sonic project and will definitely keep you up to date when we hear more.
