Louisiana Travel Alert: Popular Buc-ee’s Location To Experience Perfect Storm This Weekend
When Louisianians think of taking a road trip, the first question on our minds is, 'Is there a Buc-ee's on the way?'. Some might argue that its just a gas station, but to us its a way of life.
When you see a Buc-ee's billboard on the horizon you can rest easy knowing that clean bathrooms and beaver nuggets are just a couple exits away, hopefully.
Buc-ee's also has an unfortunate sense of humor so you may see a billboard like this one that tricks you into thinking you are close but in reality you are over 10 hours away.
Is Buc-ee's Really the WORST Gas Station?
Buc-ee's has an actual fanbase, Millions of people love it so how could it be the worst?
Long story short they are not the worst. USA Today made a list of the top 10 best gas stations and Buc-ee's came out 10th. That's still an A in our book. However, mysanantonia.com ran with the idea that Buc-ee's came out last.
Are All Buc-ee's Are NOT Created Equal?
You may think it's Buc-ee's blasphemy to say such a horrible thing, but if you have ever made a stop at this particular location, then you may agree with what one reviewer had to say.
Sure, the bathrooms are pristine and they have all of your favorite snacks like beef jerky and candied pecans, well actually come to think of it basically everything is the same, but according to one person's review the headache you get from just trying to get in and out of the parking lot is enough to never want to never see another beaver nugget again.
Now, keep in mind that everyone who stops here on their way to the beach can definitely expect more traffic on holiday weekends.
Why You May Want To Stop At The 'Worst' Buc-ee's Anyway
Everyone and their Mom from the Lafayette area are heading to the beach for Memorial Day. Some make it a quick weekend trip, while others take the whole week off. You can bet your bottom beaver buck that they will all be making a pit stop at this Buc-ee's location.
The Buc-ee's in Robertsdale, Alabama, known as the "Beach Express," is being crowned the 'worst' by some however, you may want to consider stopping anyway.
The toll booth on the Foley Expressway is being dismantled, and they warned Beachgoers to expect traffic delays. Better to take a longer pit stop than to have a car full of kids, and grown adults, complaining that they need to 'potty'.
The Perfect Storm
To summarize, you will experience more traffic and more people at Buc-ee's by the Foley expressway because it is a holiday weekend, and the toll booth being dismantled will also create some congestion.
