Hurricane Harvey has caused untold damage and devastation for many in the state of Texas. UGK's legacy has been directly affected by Hurricane Harvey. On Wednesday (Aug. 30), rapper Bun B’s wife Queenie posted on Instagram that the son of Bun's late UGK partner Pimp C was stuck at his grandmother’s house in six feet of water.
And Queenie revealed that everything remaining of UGK's archives was now gone. Pimp C's widow Chinara Butler reposted the photo from Queenie from another account.
“Lil Chad aka Chaddy Boo is still stuck in his grandma house in 6ft. of water. His phone died. He his wife and a 79yr old neighbor 5048 Shevsport Ave,” Queenie's now-deleted Instagram post read.
“Just talk to him and he’s on near the reservoir that’s overflowing #repost. All archives of UGK that was left is now gone. Please be thankful for what you have. Do not complain about anything.”
Bun B is working to help his home state recover from the chaos of Harvey. The veteran rapper is organizing a telethon together with Jamie Foxx.
According to a report from TMZ, the rapper, along with the people who were behind Ariana Grande’s Manchester, England benefit concert will organize a telethon. Sources close to the event say the group is looking at Sept. 12 for the event and have received commitments from major television networks to air it in primetime.
The event was also teased by Foxx on Instagram. The comedian, who is a Texas native, said the telethon would take place on Sept. 12. Foxx has already donated $25,000, as have other celebs such as Kevin Hart, Nicki Minaj and Dwayne Johnson.
