Busy Section of Johnston Street Will Have LEFT Lane Closures Soon

CORRECTION: DOTD has notified KPEL NEWS that only the northbound and southbound left lanes of Johnston Street will be closed, so traffic will still flow through this area of Johnston Street.

We apologize for the confusion as the original story did not specify that it is only the LEFT lanes that will be closed.

The left lanes of Johnston Street from Maurice to West & E. Broussard Road will be closed in both the northbound and southbound directions beginning on Wednesday, March 11 and lasting until Tuesday, July 14.

DOTD crews will be closing this heavily-traveled part of Johnston Street as they lay pipe, remove required turn lanes and cross-overs (as well as other construction) as workers continue the Left Turn Lanes Project on the popular roadway.
