Cajundome Roof is Finally Getting Washed, But the Cleaning Method May Blow Your Mind
I stumbled across a really cool video on Facebook recently of a couple of drone videos from atop the Cajundome in Lafayette. The footage was so cool (and scary) that at first, I didn't realize the words attached to the status update.
What our friend Mr. Marks was sharing should make everyone in Acadiana super happy. The Cajundome's roof is getting cleaned!
And if you're saying to yourself, "it's about time," you aren't alone. That roof looks nasty.
I snapped some pictures of the Cajundome earlier this morning.
But we now know that this will change soon. Jody Marks owns LA. Drone Services and they have been hired by the Cajundome to do the cleaning of the roof.
According to Marks, the last time the Cajundome's roof was cleaned was in 2012. Yep, 10 years ago!
You may recall that a few years ago the roof got a new coating. That actually happened in early 2017.
Thankfully, in just a few days things will be shiny on top of the Cajundome. Just like this tank that was cleaned by LA. Drone Services.
That's kind of mind-blowing, ain't it? A lil' drone with a hose and some cleaning juice. Choo! (OK, I know it's way more advanced than that.)
When the next big Cajundome event happens (for some, that'll be Luke Bryan on Aug. 26), that roof's going to be looking shiny and new.
