Cardi B Ties The Beatles and Ashanti After Placing First Three Billboard Hot 100 Hits in Top 10 Simultaneously
If it feels like Cardi B has been making history at every turn, it's probably because she has—and she really shows no signs of stopping. Earlier this week, just about three months after her single "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)" became the longest-running female rap No. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100's storied history, it was revealed that she's now matched at least one accomplishment of two more Billboard titans.
On Tuesday (Jan. 2), Billboard reported that Bardi had tied The Beatles and Ashanti as the only musical acts to place their first three Hot 100 hits in the top 10 simultaneously. The tracks that secured Bardi the accomplishment include G-Eazy's A$AP Rocky and Cardi-assisted single, "No Limit," which has just moved up from No. 5 to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart; Migos' Nicki Minaj and Bardi-featured Culture 2 single, "MotorSport" at No. 7; and Cardi's signature single, "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)," which just returned to No. 10 on the chart after falling to No. 12 the week before.
The Beatles earned their epic accomplishment over 50 years ago when their singles "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "She Loves You" and "Please Please Me" landed at Nos. 1, 2 and 3, respectively, the weeks of Feb. 29, March 7 and March 14, 1964. For her part, Ashanti's "Foolish" and her feature appearances on Fat Joe's "What's Luv?" and Ja Rule's "Always on Time" accomplished the feat nearly 40 years later during the weeks of March 30 and April 6, 2002.
Needless to say, Ashanti and The Beatles had epic starts to their career, and now, it's more than a fair to say the same for Cardi—and you've got to put her in the same sentence as those artists.
Bardi celebrated the news with an Instagram video. "What a great way to start my Year.Thank you Lord .Only you and i know how much i pray to you. These last few weeks been too much for me but my Lord always find a way to uplift me .Thank you to my fans ,DJS ,Team for the support .Thanks to all the artist who featured me I️n thesee songs and thanks guys for showing my second single BARTIER CARDI some love 😍😍😍😍💕💕💕💪🏾💪🏾I love you," she captioned the vid.
In related news, Camila Cabello's Young Thug-assisted single, "Havana," rests at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while Lil Pump's "Gucci Gang" lives at No. 4. Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. single, "Love," is knocking on the door of the top 10 after shooting up from No. 22 to No. 11.
