Is This Cat Going Up Or Down A Flight of Stairs???

Forget about the color of the dress we were all arguing over a few weeks back, now its this cat!!! Is this cat going up or down a flight of stairs---its the big debate on social media. 

Many have been dissecting this photo to reach a conclusion, but honestly I do not know if this cat is going up the stairs or down the stairs. Can you help me?

Some have taken the wood grains of the steps into account, while others are even looking at how the cat is walking in the photo. I just don't know---But if I had to guess, the cat is going DOWN the flight of stairs.
