Officials with the Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers program are hoping that someone will come forward with information about who is responsible for shooting at a car full of kids riding down the Church Point Highway according to their request that was made via press release Wednesday.

While no one died as a result of this shooting, two of the juveniles in the vehicle were hit by bullets. The young people were taken to an area hospital, and officials began investigating this incident. One thing that is known about this case is the fact that detectives do not believe this was some random shooting event. Now, there has been no motive for this shooting that has been released to the public.

Detectives from the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office that are working this case say this all got started at around 1 o'clock on the morning of Sunday, February 21 in an area of the highway that is south of Church Point. Both the victim's car and the suspect's car were traveling in the same direction on the Church Point Highway when the shooting broke out.

The car has been described by sheriff's deputies as "being dark in color" according to their press release concerning this crime. There is no other description of this vehicle or the people that were in the other car at least as far as what information is being disseminated to the media.
