Clay Higgins Responds To Backlash From “Kill Them All” Facebook Post: “I Call Things The Way I See Them”
U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) is standing by controversial comments made in a Facebook post that has the internet buzzing.
Whether you love or hate Clay Higgins, one thing is for sure: The man is NOT afraid to speak his mind. In a recent Facebook post, Higgins stated that those suspected of radicalized Islamic terrorism should be hunted down, identified and killed.
Numerous articles have been written over these comments, with hundreds upon hundreds of others, including Louisiana residents, chiming in with their opinion on his words. Some are supportive, like Naomi Williams.
That's what we need more of...People who will call things as they see it and not how people want to see it. There's a difference.
While others believe that Higgins' words can end up doing more bad than good.
His statement called for the killing of "suspects" implying that their affiliation is yet to be proven, and he portrayed the whole conflict with terrorists as a holy war....that is THEIR propaganda. He is playing into to terrorist's hands and narrative and has done us all a disservice. And that is reading his statement generously, it could easily have been interpreted as a call for genocide. If not wanting my congressman to make statements this irresponsible, destructive, counter productive, and honestly evil makes me a PC liberal snowflake then I am proud to be one. #proudsnowflake#winteriscoming
KATC reached out to Congressman Higgins' office, who verified the post and gave the following response:
We are a world at war. The enemy is radicalized Islamic jihadists. The terrorists certainly take advantage of the politically correct madness that consumes the West. They revel, that many in the western world are frightened to speak freely. I've never been accused of being politically correct. I call things the way I see them. The meaning of candid speech is frequently mischaracterized or misunderstood. This is about prioritizing national security and protecting American lives. Every measure must be taken to eliminate radical Islamic terrorism and the threat it poses to the free world. My only concern is protecting the people that live in my district, my state, and my country. We must stand strong against radical Islamic terror. The fate of the free world will be determined by the courageous, not by the intimidated.
