College Ranker Listed The 50 Best College Towns, And Lafayette Didn’t Make It

College Ranker listed the 50 Best College Towns to Live In Forever, and only one Louisiana city made the list.

Number one on the list is St. Augustine, Florida, which is totally understandable as they have the Fountain of Youth and everything. Ames, Iowa? It is a nice place. Bozeman, MT? A little too cool for my warm blood, but I understand why it made the list. But Monroe, Louisiana, at #41?

Granted, I've only spent one night in Monroe during my adult life. I made the mistake of walking into a restaurant and ordering a bowl of gumbo and, right at the moment of the first spoonful, I was done with Monroe.

If College Ranker lists it as one of the best college towns to live in forever, I may just have to make another visit (and this time I'll stay away from the gumbo).
