The 2016 Essence Fest lineup gets a major boost as Common and Puff Daddy and The Family have been added to the festivities. The performers join a star-studded cast of acts that includes Kendrick Lamar, Mariah Carey, The Internet, Jidenna, Kehlani, Maxwell, DeJ Loaf, and more.

The Essence Fest will take place June 30-July 3 at the Superdome in New Orleans.

“The Essence Festival is back in New Orleans with an extraordinary roster of the biggest names and best performers in entertainment—from global music icons to the industry’s rising stars," said Essence president Michelle Ebanks in a statement.

Along with the announcement of the additions of Common and Diddy, Essence also released the full schedule which can be seen below:

Friday, July 1, Mainstage: Maxwell, New Edition, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Tyrese, Faith Evans, Avery Wilson.
Superlounges: Digable Planets, Daley, Eric Bellinger, Lion Babe, The Internet, Tweet, Estelle, Mali Music, V. Bozeman, Kelly Price, Zakes Bantwini, Skye Wanda.

Saturday, July 2, Mainstage: Mariah Carey, Charlie Wilson, Common, Estelle, Jeremih. Superlounges: Doug E. Fresh, Tink, Jidenna, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, St. Beauty, Lalah Hathaway, Judith Hill, Wizkid, Lady Leshurr.

Sunday, July 3, Mainstage: Kendrick Lamar, Puff Daddy & The Family, Ciara, Andra Day. Superlounges: MC Lyte, Dej Loaf, Cyril Neville, Leon Bridges, Kehlani, New Breed Brass Band, Robert Glasper, BJ The Chicago Kid, The Brand New Heavies, Little Simz.

Common has already made his presence felt on the festival scene this year as he was one of many rappers turning up during the first weekend of Coachella.
