Lafayette Business Delivers a Humorous Comeback to Criticism Over Risqué Sign
The Lafayette community has gotten a good laugh out of a hilarious response from a local business after complaints over their cheeky sign.
Crave is an adult store located on Johnston Street in one of the busiest parts of Lafayette. They used to be tucked away in Fiesta Village, but now they are out in the open, which has certainly ruffled some feathers.
With traffic often backed up in the area, it’s hard for children to miss the store’s suggestive signage and window displays, prompting questions that parents might not be ready to answer on the fly.
Katie B. made a post in a local neighborhood group, opening up the conversation, saying, "Forgive me for being a Karen. I’m imagining being the kid who can read stuck in traffic next to Crave on Johnston Street, 'Better sex starts here,' 'Want a better erection?' Bruh."
One commenter said, "OMG, Katie, I feel this in my soul. My nosy 7-year-old reads EVERYTHING. The other day, she asked me what ‘erection results’ meant after we passed one of their old signs."
The Crave staff is known for having a good sense of humor: "I totally get where you’re coming from, but I have to give it to Crave—they’re hilarious. Did you see their post after Election Day? If you’re unhappy about the erection results, we can help!" I almost spit out my coffee.
It didn't take long for Crave to catch wind of the online conversation about their sign, and its no surprise that they had a witty response saying "We all deserve to have our stocking stuffed, even Katie".
With so much negativity online, seeing a situation handled with humor is refreshing and we certain had a good laugh.
