Chappelle, Seinfeld and Netflix Comedians Invade ‘Stranger Things’ in New Ad
As if endless Netflix originals weren’t already frying our brains, we’re starting to see comedians in our favorite shows. Netflix took advantage of its comedy stable to put Dave Chappelle in Stranger Things, while Jerry Seinfeld advises Frank Underwood in a new crossover ad.
Netflix piggybacked off Sunday’s Emmy hype to debut the new “Netflix Is a Joke” campaign, digitally inserting comedians Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres and Jerry Seinfeld into Stranger Things, Orange Is the New Black, The Crown and House of Cards, respectively. The “Netflix Is a Joke” billboards perplexed fans a few weeks back, but were quickly discovered as the streaming service poking fun at itself.
In the meantime, Seinfeld will debut Jerry Before Seinfeld this very Tuesday, while Chappelle, Rock and DeGeneres all have new specials due out in the next year, atop the two Dave Chappelle specials already streaming on the service. Check out the Seinfeld trailer below, and stay tuned for the latest.
