DJ Khaled appears to have addressed reports surrounding his album Father of Asahd debuting at No. 2 behind Tyler The Creator’s Igor, which premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart on May 30.

On Monday (June 10), Khaled jumped onto his Instagram account to thank his fans for making his album No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart, and in the process, alluded to reports that his album sales were affected by Billboard deciding to discount elements of his album sales in their final tally for first week chart performance.

“Fan Luv thank you for all your love and support. We got the #1 Hip Hop album in the country this week!” Khaled writes. “I’m in the music bizz not bundle bizz.”

DJ Khaled, who disabled the comments for this Instagram post, is likely alluding to a New York Times article that attempts to explain part of why his star-studded LP didn't top the Billboard 200 chart last week. According to the article, the sales race between Khaled and Tyler came down the validity of their album packages with other items—or bundles.

Tyler offered clothes with his Igor album bundles, while Khaled had energy drinks with his Father of Asahd packages. However, Billboard disqualified most of the We the Best leader’s bundled purchases because the packages, which were marketed by Shop.com and its parent company Market America, were "encouraging unauthorized bulk sales"

In addition, Page Six has reported that Khaled is possibly considering filing a lawsuit against Billboard for allegedly discounting elements of Khaled's sales totals for the chart position of Father of Asahd album, thus, keeping him from gaining the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart.
