The N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton was one of the biggest box office hits of the summer. While all the main characters in the film were portrayed fairly (if not accurately), one person feels he was misrepresented entirely in the movie. N.W.A’s former manager, Jerry Heller, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, the estate of Eazy-E, NBCUniversal and the producers who were involved in the making of the film.

According to TMZ, Heller claims that his portrayal in the flick was inaccurate and malicious. The 75-year-old attorney-turned-mogul believes the movie characterized him as the “bad guy” and “sleazy manager who took advantage of Eazy-E, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube.”

The lawsuit also cites a slew of inaccuracies in depicting Heller in the movie, including that he withheld a $75,000 check from Ice Cube, fraudulently induced Dre and Cube to sign unfavorable contracts, that he was fired by Eazy-E and more.

Heller also claims that he never gave permission to use his likeness in the film and believes that producers stole content from his 2006 book, Ruthless: A Memoir, to create fictional scenes in the movie.

The Ruthless Records co-founder is seeking $35 million in compensatory damages and at least $75 million in punitive damages, plus all profits made from the film. Altogether, roughly $110 million plus royalties.

Attorneys for Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and all parties involved in this lawsuit had no comment on the matter.

Heller has done several interviews regarding his involvement with N.W.A and his thoughts on the biopic itself. You can watch some of them over on DJ Vlad's YouTube channel.
