Rap fans may not have to wait much longer for new music from Drake and J. Cole, but does their forthcoming collaboration mean a joint album is on the way?

While Cole is expected to drop a solo album later this year, Drake insists that both powerhouse MCs get into the studio to cook up some new tunes of their own. During a show for his Assassination Vacation tour in Europe last month, Drizzy saluted Cole onstage and revealed that they've got new music coming soon.

“I can't wait to make some new music with you, I know we have been working, I can't wait...,” Drake told Cole to the crowd's delight.

While we'd love to hear a follow-up collaboration to Cole's 2010 track "In the Morning" featuring Drake, a joint album from Drake and J. Cole is something the people want if you take a scroll through social media. Cole's only collab project to date is the forthcoming Revenge of the Dreamers III album. On the other hand, Drake has had plenty of success with his joint LP with Future, What a Time to Be Alive. So much so that Drizzy and Future Hendrix plan to drop another installment soon.

Before we get some new Drake and Future music, XXL examines the possibility of a joint album from the Toronto native and Fayetteville, N.C.'s hometown hero. Watch Drake and J. Cole's musical relationship examined and come to your own conclusions in the video up top.
