Drake Is Almost Done Recording His New Album ‘Views From the 6′
It appears that Drake's upcoming album Views From the 6 is almost complete. The Toronto rapper posted two photos on Instagram with a simple caption: "Home Stretch." One of the photos sees Drake's longtime producer Noah "40" Shebib leaving a Bed, Bath and Beyond with some items as they presumably plan to sleep at the studio.
While it is nothing definitive, these Instagram posts represent one of the major updates from Drake on his new LP. The album is tentatively scheduled to be released in April, so fans should be optimistic that it will arrive as planned. As far as the album goes, much of what we know comes from the aforementioned Noah "40" Shebib. The producer recently spoke on the album's creation in an interview with Jon Caramanica.
"After Nothing Was the Same, Drake was like, ‘I want to do a rap project,’" 40 told the New York Times. "He wanted to do what all the other rappers get to do,” but that plan is “a thing we can’t do that much on a Drake album. We have other fans we need to satisfy."
40 went into more detail about the project, describing his production work and Drake's evolution as an artist.
"It’s going to be what everybody expects and wants from Drake and from us," 40 said. "A lot of introspection, very vivid. He’s discovering new flows, new cadences, new patterns. I’m trying to find ways to pull more untraditional sounds in, to push the boundaries a little further. Something about it should be special."
