Drone footage shows an aerial shot of the heavy flooding around the hotels behind Outback Steakhouse and Chili's off of Pinhook.

Thousands have been rescued in the historic flooding in South Louisiana, but to see places that we normally recognize as a place for dinner with our families completely underwater really captures the gravity of the situation.

Anyone from Lafayette will immediately recognize Outback Steakhouse, JP Oil, the DoubleTree by Hilton Lafayette, the Fairfield Inn and more restaurants and hotels.

Earlier today, video showed boats rescuing people who were stranded in the floodwaters of the hotel and bringing them to safety.
