As purple and gold confetti fell from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome ceiling, the LSU Tigers celebrated a National Championship and the end of a perfect 15-0 season last night.

Head coach Ed Orgeron and many on his staff woke up this morning as champions, and a little richer too.

As is the case with the majority of college coaching contracts, many on LSU's staff had escalator clauses, calling for bonus paydays based on achievements.

There's no great achievement in college football than a National Championship.

LSU will pay about a total of $2.4 million in bonuses to various members of the coaching staff.
